INTRODUCTION

Improvements to the motorway network Transit New Zealand is working to substantially ease Auckland's roading problems. THREE KEY PROJECTS >>> in central Auckland are currently underway. Combined they will help Auckland's central motorway network work more efficiently. The Central Motorway Improvement projects are; Grafton Gully Project (GGP)   Central Motorway Junction (CMJ)   Victoria Park Tunnel (VPT)

These three projects are part of implementing the AUCKLAND STATE HIGHWAY STRATEGY >>> .
Other key projects include;

• Completing the ring route which will join the Southern and Southwestern motorways
• Building an Upper Harbour motorway to connect the Northwestern and Northern motorways
• Investigating a new highway in the Eastern corridor, and Construction of a North Shore Busway
