THE THREE
PROJECTS |
CENTRAL MOTORWAY
JUNCTION (CMJ) >>
This project aims to improve the efficiency of the junction
by solving some serious alignment issues. When completed,
it will provide all the required motorway-to-motorway
connections to the central area. Work on the first stage of
the CMJ project began in September 2002, and the project is
scheduled for completion in late 2006.
VICTORIA PARK TUNNEL (VPT/HBTC) >>
This project aims to address congestion between the
Auckland Harbour Bridge and Wellington Street. It aims to
balance the capacity of the Harbour Bridge by widening the
motorway through St May's Bay and across Victoria Park
viaduct. Three broad options for improvements have been
proposed.
GRAFTON GULLY PROJECT (GGP)
>>
This project proposes new links to provide direct access
between the Northern Motorway, Grafton Gully, and the Port
of Auckland. Construction throughout the gully has been
underway since December 2001, and the project is scheduled
for completion in early 2004.
