VIC PARK TUNNEL - KEY FEATURES: VICTORIA PARK

Improvements:

• 440 metre long tunnel beneath Victoria Park, providing three lanes for northbound traffic.
• Retaining use of the viaduct over Victoria Park to provide four lanes for southbound traffic.
• Improved traffic capacity and priority for buses.
• Only temporary loss of open space in Victoria Park during construction (open space will be restored on completion).
• Preservation of key heritage icons, including the Birdcage Hotel.
• Better pedestrian access.
