VIC PARK TUNNEL - THE PROPOSED WORK: NORTHBOUND TUNNEL

Transit‘s planning is to build a Northbound tunnel beneath Victoria Park and retain the existing viaduct over Victoria Park for southbound traffic, combined with lane additions through St Mary’s Bay. The VPT project is based on previous consultation, the introduction of the Land Transport Management Act 2003, and an Auckland City Council, Auckland Regional Council and North Shore City Council preference for an underground solution through Victoria Park.
